Responsibilities:

PRODUCER – OTTAWA (ONTARIO)

We are looking for motivated individuals in Ottawa and London who are interested in exploring a career in sales that is rewarding personally, professionally, and financially. Gallagher offers a comprehensive “learning by doing” experience that provides you with a realistic look of what it means to be a Gallagher Producer. The primary function of this role is to generate revenue through new business and the ongoing servicing of commercial clients.

HOW YOU WILL INFLUENCE THE BUSINESS

  • You will prospect for new clients by networking within the community and industry, seeking referrals from existing clients and partnering with Branch Managers to uncover new opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a knowledge base of coverage lines as well as risk management solutions and insurance products.
  • You will articulate the client value proposition in a manner that distinguishes Gallagher’s capabilities and approach from the competition.
  • Effectively qualify opportunities and pursue those with a high probability of success.
  • You will develop knowledge about the clients’ business needs and use the vast network of Gallagher Industry and specialized experts to serve these needs.
  • Actively engage clients by anticipating and helping plan for their future needs.
  • Form relationships with external firms and individuals with clients who have needs that Gallagher could help with.
  • Form relationships with carriers to understand their solutions relative to client needs and factors that contribute to commissions and fees.
  • Stay on top of industry and market trends that can impact prospects and clients, and maintain expertise to address their needs.
  • Develop proposals, contracts and renewal agreements by coordinating efforts of Gallagher Client Service Operations.
  • Research property to examine its general condition, type of construction, age and other characteristics to decide if it fits underwriting standards.
    Qualifications:

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Completion of post-secondary
  • License(s) essential to provincial licensing jurisdictions as required for the position, along with management of continuing education hours; Insurance designations and/or courses completed towards designations an asset
  • Strong analytical, organization and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to set goals and initiatives and deliver desired results.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Client service and advocacy experience an asset.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to recognize and analyze client risk exposures.
  • Ability to learn on a continual basis through educational opportunities and collaboration with colleagues.
  • Professional communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all areas of work.
