JOB TITLE: Product Control Capital Markets & Term Deposits Assistant Manager - 12 Month FTC

SALARY: £42,120 – £46,800

LOCATION(S): Edinburgh
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site
About this opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a 12 month FTC within Product Control. The successful candidate will become a member of the Capital Markets & Term Deposits team which resides within CB Products & Oversight within Product Control, an agile and supportive team with a desire to further all of its colleague’s development goals, via learning opportunities, knowledge sharing and cross training. Key responsibilities will include liaising with our key customers, running our daily P&L controls, monthly deliverables and ad hoc project work which covers a wide range of different CB products, Businesses & colleagues.

Day to day you’ll be;

  • Preparing daily P&L production, reconciliations, signoffs, issue resolution.
  • Supporting the month end close processes associated with accurately reporting and independently validating the bank’s balance sheet in a timely manner.
  • Preparing analysis and in-depth commentary on P&L and balance sheet movements.
  • Supporting a robust control framework for all processes within remit.
  • Undertaking ad hoc work and investigation arising from partner requests.
  • Supporting delivery of efficiencies and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Establishing and building relationships with partners

What you’ll need

  • Qualified or Part Qualified accountant
  • Ability to manage and build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Understanding of relevant business systems, along with practical understanding of financial systems and processes
  • Ability to utilise and manipulate spread sheets, produce formatted charts and use formulae and pivot tables
  • Seeking an individual who is looking to work in a fast paced & changing environment
  • Ability to quickly pick up new concepts and demonstrates a willingness to learn
  • Experience in Capital Markets products and/or the systems used by LBG is preferred but not essential

And any experience of these would be really useful

  • Supporting the implementation of robust processes aligned to business objectives, recommending improvements where appropriate.
  • Establishing and building relationships with partners to support the provision of quality and timely information and analysis to advise business decisions.
  • Participating in team activities, demonstrating collaboration and teamwork across the department, supporting continuous improvement in behaviours and processes.
