Job Summary
The Product Delivery Manager is responsible for the delivery of Product from initial development, through deployment and adoption, ongoing support and ultimately to end of life.
The Product Delivery Manager will implement, test, deliver, and support their products throughout their life cycle. They will work collaboratively with the Product Manager, Product Family Leader, and the Architecture team to deliver a high-quality product that is fully integrated with other products in the Product Family and across the portfolio of products.

In this role you will:

Product Delivery

  • Fulfills the Product Roadmap with on time releases that provide solutions to the business with high quality and within budget.
  • Delivers products that align with the enterprise architecture and technology direction of NAV CANADA and are consistent with enterprise priorities.
  • Drives deployment and adoption of product releases with the impacted business teams.
  • Provides effective product support to ensure a high degree of end user satisfaction.
  • Follows an effective control framework on production systems and ensures new systems meet internal compliance requirements.
  • Contributes to and follows a consistent product delivery framework and associated controls.
  • Maintains effective and positive relationships with product vendors and service partners that are involved in product delivery.
  • Collaborates effectively with the Project Delivery Services organization and other Product Families to deliver consistent and integrated solutions.

People Leadership & Management

  • Provides coaching, mentorship, and positive leadership of the Product Delivery team to maintain a healthy and productive workplace.
  • Works effectively and in a highly collaborative fashion with other teams in Technology Infrastructure Services
  • Delegates effectively and monitors progress to achieve expected results.
  • Accountable and responsible for a team of technology professionals working through technical leads and specialists. Responsibilities include:
  • Provides direct management for analysts, developers, and other related technical resources.
  • Directing the day-to-day activities by establishing the work unit’s strategies, business goals, performance indicators and objectives, priorities, work plans, milestone deliverables, financial plans, and resource plans.
  • Determining the on-going staff requirements and hiring and/or promoting subordinates to fulfill these needs.
  • Conducting regular performance assessments of all staff and establishing training strategies to target developmental needs.
  • As necessary, conferring discipline which involves all variety of scenarios from verbal to written warnings, suspensions, or ultimately dismissal.
  • Manages delegated portion of the AVP/Director’s budget by
  • determining financial requirements and administering their portion of the budget
  • monitoring and reporting activity against budgets/business plans and responding to variances as appropriate
  • determining business/financial efficiencies respecting the utilization of resources
  • commits corporate funds through the authority to negotiate, conclude and manage professional resources contracts
  • Ensures the responsible use of all resources and assets for the benefit of NAV CANADA; manage operating and capital expenditures in line with applicable budgets and approvals, and in accordance to stated company and IM objectives and priorities.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences or Information Technology
  • Post graduate degree is an asset
  • 3-5 years of experience as an information technology manager
  • 3-5 years of experience managing people in a business or technology environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the delivery of information technology solutions
  • Familiarity with the principles of product management
