PALFINGER is searching for a Product Design Engineer to work in the Oklahoma City, OK facility. We are located at 341 NW 122nd Street, Oklahoma City, OK, 73114. This position reports to the Engineer Lead, R & D. Designs, develops, and enhances new and existing products/product lines. Evaluates and recommends specifications and ensures products meet the technical and functional requirements. Recommends and follows reliable, efficient, and cost-effective procedures. Performs feasibility, functional, and quality testing of designs. Works with other members of the engineering staff to ensure project milestones are met and that projects are completed according to established timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a mechanical engineer bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret prints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.
  • Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information.
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, or other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, or maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Support inital protype installation, operation, maintenance, or repair to ensure that machines or equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.
  • Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems.
  • Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
  • Support some aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs.
  • Design test control apparatus or equipment or develop procedures for testing products.
  • Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, or maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, or processes to meet requirements.
  • Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions.
  • Develop or test models of alternate designs or processing methods to assess feasibility, sustainability, operating condition effects, potential new applications, or necessity of modification.
  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design, performance specifications, or environmental regulations.
  • Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products, using drafting tools or computer-assisted drafting equipment or software.
  • Estimate costs for engineering projects.
