We are seeking a Product Designer I/II on a permanent basis to join us on our mission.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Level 8 Bachelors degree (240 credits) in a STEM related discipline
  • SolidWorks competencies essential – Fully proficient in 3D solid modelling, drawing creation, working with large assemblies & concept development and be able showcase examples of past projects.
  • Proven hands-on experience in project builds.
  • Mechanical design knowledge essential, proven projects.
  • 3D Printing Competencies – Experience with one or all of the following, FDM, SLS, Stereolithography technologies. Passion in the maintenance, upkeep, nesting and running of 3D printers.
  • Fully competent in Data/File Management & documentation control.
  • Microsoft Office Suite Competency – PowerPoint skillset.
  • Presentation skills.
  • BOM (Bill of Material) Creation.
  • Tolerance Stack Up Analysis.
  • Design for manufacture (DFM) knowledge.
  • Drawing Tree Creation and Maintenance.
  • Product design insight and problem solving.
  • Design of R&D test fixtures and equipment.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication.
  • Comfortable and effective in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Be able to work in a team and on their own initiative.
  • Full EU passport.

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Experience with animations, simulation, surfacing techniques and CSWA Certifications desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes.
  • SolidCam knowledge (G Code generation).

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for modelling, designing and documentation for new and existing medical device products and equipment (e.g. assemblies/sub-assemblies/components/fixtures/stents). Responsible for capturing the designs through CAD modelling, drawings and all associated design documentation, while also ensuring compliance to company and Industry standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work as part of a team to develop a robust product design.
  • Assists in the development & documentation of all design requirements.
  • Involved in design print reviews to lead changes to drawings, processes and tolerances to maintain a robust product design.
  • Ownership of complete detailed print package creation and remediation, including adherence to drafting standards, engineering design standards (EDS) and other department procedures.
  • Understand the need for and use of quality control systems in documentation control.
  • Assist in creation of test methods to measure critical design requirements.
  • Assist in the selection of appropriate manufacturing process technologies.
  • Create CAD Solid Models of all design concepts, including assemblies, renderings, exploded views and details.
  • Manages the print package deliverables in PDM (creation of part numbers, primary content files, Spec Maps, product structure linkages, completion of CT’s, etc.).
  • Support 3D printing team in all aspects of 3D printing.
  • Hands on post processing, prototype construction and procurement.
