Locally produced in Australia – this brand is privately owned and part of a wider successful fashion group. They design for a modern woman, with a focus on tailored pieces, elevated design and stunning craftmanship.
The Role |
Reporting to the Knitwear Manager you will take the knitwear designs from initial concept through to final product. Working closely in communication with Design and suppliers you will provide technical expertise and creative input to ensure high quality knitwear. This role is critical to creating quality knitwear garments and a seamless process for a team to work together to achieve a high level of efficiency and contribution to the success of the business.
- Liaise with Knitwear Manager and Design Team on the design and concept
- Interpret the design and arrange yarn and stitch sourcing where necessary
- Develop technical packs of working drawings, specification sheets, yarns, stitch and construction guidelines to the suppliers.
- Liaise with the supplier and communicate clear timelines to ensure the sample is ready for design and buying meetings
- Follow the sample through fitting process by liaising with Design and proving instructions to the suppliers.
- Garment testing and care instruction approval
- Measure and quality control all samples through the production and pre-shipment stages to ensure the garment commercially acceptable

We are seeking an experienced Product Developer with a qualification in knitwear or equivalent experience - within an existing fashion brand.
- Understanding of current international fashion trends
- Understanding of elevated design aesthetic
- Positive attitude and creative flair
- Exceptional time management skills to meet deadlines and manage a fast paced, busy design team
- Exceptional Organisational, time management, problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
- Advanced levels of Excel and Adobe Illustrator
