BreakThrough in hockey innovation as our Product Development Test Engineer! Join the frontline of innovation with Warrior Sports as a vital member of our Hockey Skate R&D team. Positioned at the cutting edge, you will collaborate intensively with product designers and developers in Montreal and Asia to launch Warrior’s inaugural hockey skate. Embodying the spirit of breakthrough, you will spearhead rigorous testing procedures to not only meet but exceed market standards, ensuring top-tier quality through precision and meticulous attention to detail.
In this role, your determination will drive the development and testing of pioneering innovations and product enhancements, continuously setting new benchmarks and distinguishing Warrior in the market. With a growth mindset, you will delve into the vast potential and tackle the overarching challenges within the skate category, enhancing our competitive edge.
While your primary focus will be revolutionizing the skate category, this position also offers the opportunity to impact various other product lines, including Player/Goalie Protective gear, Helmets, and Sticks, fostering a culture of valor and camaraderie across all dimensions of product development at Warrior Sports.

Responsibilities:

Work in collaboration with product designers/developers to deliver Warrior’s first hockey skate to the market
Develop test methods to quantify strength, durability, and performance of skates, skate components, and materials
Design test fixtures for use with existing lab equipment to achieve specific testing objectives
Carry out mechanical and biomechanical testing ensuring accurate and repeatable results
Set up, maintain, troubleshoot, and operate lab equipment and instrumentation
Collect, analyze, and interpret data in the context of product design
Maintain detailed records of test methods, observations, and results
Generate reports and presentations to communicate experimental findings to the product development team
Develop quality control protocols; work with suppliers to evaluate products and components in mass production
Collaborate with academic partners to carry out research projects supporting product innovation
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Undergraduate degree in mechanical or materials engineering
Graduate degree in mechanical, materials, or biomechanical engineering is a plus
Experience with mechanical and materials lab testing and equipment such as materials testing machine, drop tower, linear impactor, etc.
Experience in product development is a plus
Ability to define test objectives, develop test plans, and interpret test results in alignment with product development goals
Familiar with sporting equipment test procedures (ex: footwear, cut & sew, or hard goods) is a plus
Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for analyzing and presenting data/test results
Experience in CAD software for designing test fixtures
Ability to identify issues with test equipment, and troubleshoot problems effectively
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team
Capable of working autonomously within defined parameters
Highly motivated to solve problems; detail-oriented
Proficient in verbal and written English communication
Passionate about skating or playing hockey is a plus
