Job Description
EBAD is seeking a Product Engineer with experience working in a manufacturing environment. The Product Engineer will be responsible for evaluating designs for manufacturability and leading development of new products into production. Candidate will have key areas of expertise in analyzing user requirements, mechanical design, tool design, and manufacturing cell layout.

Job Description
EBAD seeks a Product Engineer to support our Defense and Aerospace Market. This position is located in Moorpark, CA.
Responsibilities:

This position supports and reports directly to the Product Engineering Lead.The Product Engineer (PE) is the technical lead on internal and external projects and is responsible for all technical and schedule aspects of the project/product throughout the production life cycle. Primary duties include:

  • Creation of product structures and routers needed for manufacturing hardware.
  • Creation of DWP (department work instructions) of best practice.
  • Implementing SPC, inline inspection strategy for manufacturing hardware.
  • Creation of inventory part in IFS as needed to support internal manufacturing.
  • Process CR (change request) for drawing updates in collaboration with team.
  • Identifying, designing & procuring manufacturing tooling as needed.
  • Identify and implement new technology to the manufacturing process.
  • Creating, updating and maintaining preventative maintenance program for manufacturing equipment.
  • Maintenance of the technical data package, build package (including manufacturing instructions, routings, tooling) as well as product acceptance testing requirements and methods.
  • Provide continuity during the transition from the proposal phase to the production phase by acting as the main technical liaison between the customer and EBA&D.
  • Collaborate with department team on counter measures to reduce non-conformance.
  • Implementation of Lean methodologies including standard work, point of use tooling, material presentation and process improvements.
  • Develop and provide technical support for new design and manufacturing processes development and perform validation through tests.
  • Provide technical support to production in regards to drawings, diagrams, written instructions and training.
  • Provides technical support for production tool/fixture validation, equipment installation, set-up, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical support to Quality Assurance, inspection plans, inspection methodology, non-conformance’s and corrective actions.
  • Prepares, summarizes, and reports data for final test data for end item data package.

Requirements:

The successful candidate must have a BS/MS in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering and 1+ years of experience working in various engineering fields relating to design, manufacturing, quality control, equipment design, facilities and/or process development. Additionally, it is desired that the candidate have experience in the following area:

  • Writing, project cost estimating, and project experience includes mechanical design, problem solving/root cause analysis, leadership of technical teams, technical management.
  • Experience with government specifications and industry standards related to aerospace components and systems design, manufacture, and test.
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing practices and in depth understanding ERP/MRP planning systems.
  • Design for Manufacturing methods and techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, tasks and projects
  • Experienced in assembling mechanical components
  • Experience in designing and fabricating test or production tooling and fixtures
  • Proficient in using machine shop tools, manual mill and lathe to produce tools and production jigs
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead assigned projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Experienced in low volume high mix, fast paced, team environment
  • Strong skills in MS Windows – Excel, Word and Power-point. Familiar with and able to work in MS Project.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in working with Aerospace and Defense products and processes is preferred
  • Experience with coding in VBS, C++.
  • Experience prototyping microcontrollers

Salary Range: $75,000 - $108,000 per year. Salary is determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
