  • Bilingual Japanese/English
  • 12+ years experience in business strategy, product management or related roles.
  • Knowledge of the business information landscape in Japan and the wider APAC Region
  • Experience with technical documentation, content or data delivery for B2B business applications (B2B4C is a plus)
  • Comfort with discussing technology with engineering teams and non-technologists.
  • Experience communicating product updates, milestones, and progres updates, along with the ability to persuade internal and external partners

Responsibilities:

ROLE

The Director, Product Management for Asia/Pacific will report to the Head of Business Management & Commercial Strategy. The position will be responsible for defining, supporting and managing products and offerings specific to the Japanese market with additional responsibilities for the greater Asia/Pacific region where Newswires has business interests and priorities. These products are the backbone of the real-time distribution of Dow Jones content for firms in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, South Korea and Australia who require it for their own employees and their customers.
We are looking for a bilingual Japanese/English person with knowledge of the business information landscape in Japan and beyond who can help run major projects for the group in the region. You are someone who has strong business communication skills, be able to represent the product and content to partners and clients; can support our client-facing Dow Jones team; and be familiar working in an atmosphere of solution selling.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with sales, partner, marketing and client support teams to explain product functionality.
  • Support customer-facing teams and regional partners as part of the sales and support process.
  • Identify and document requirements for new features and products.
  • Partner with product development and news team teams to ensure requirements are correctly turned into technical and functional requirements.
  • Liaise between local and global engineering teams involved in developing & maintaining Newswires content and product offerings.
  • Work with technical writers to ensure documentation is updated to support clients who develop apps using the APIs.
  • Work with Marketing on product messaging, strategies, and outreach to clients and prospects.
  • Contribute to sales documentation and training materials.
  • Present product enhancements and launches to sales teams and other internal stakeholders.
  • Work with the head of strategy to seek new market opportunities and define and size market segments.
  • Review usage metrics and recommend product and/or messaging changes based on findings.
  • Identify elements of success and failure to change GTM plans as needed.
