Description:

JOB SUMMARY

  • Lead the Product Design and Delivery team and work closely with relevant stakeholders, including the Product Development Panel, to review/maintain current suite of products and develop new chargeable and non-chargeable products and services into the marketplace and evaluate to ensure success and continuous improvement.
  • Lead team and create an entrepreneurial, ‘can-do’ culture that drives innovation
  • In liaison with the Strategic Product Development Lead horizon scan market changes and customer feedback to identify opportunities and gaps in current and future OAE product portfolio.
  • Make recommendations to Product Development Strategic Lead and A&BS SLT team and deliver agreed activities in line with strategic plan to support to maximise A&BS success.
  • Lead the Product Design and Delivery team to support and maximise capability, ensuring they are equipped with right tools and skills to enable effective delivery.
  • Identify strategic links to other parts of the Acas business (e.g. trends emerging from helpline and IDR) and external stakeholder activities with a view to prompting proactive updates to content, in line with the product development framework, as external focus on particular issues emerge.
  • Plan, drive and monitor performance and people, including workforce planning, recruitment, people development and wellbeing within team.
  • E-Learning -To develop and manage the training, e-learning and webinar production services considering external customer needs, updated guidance, BEIS updates, new legislation in line with Acas’ strategic aims and governance.
  • E-Learning - To lead, manage and support the organisations E-Learning platform collaborating with DDaT and external suppliers where appropriate.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Ensure that products are adequately evaluated at test stage, ensuring that any learning is incorporated into product adaptations.
  • Ensure that training and briefing materials are available for new and existing products approved for scale-up, equipping the wider delivery team to test and deliver to a high quality.
  • In conjunction with Product Development Strategic Lead, develop a product design framework policy / reference.
  • Identifying opportunities in the marketplace to expand ACAS market share through the development of new products and services and adaptation/improvement of the existing offer, including any subscription services.
  • Maintain insight around competitors to ensure that products are appropriately priced, ensure A&BS SLT are updated and make recommendations where relevant.
  • Develop a service plan, to support management reporting on team performance.
  • Ensuring a robust approach to identifying new commercial prospects for ACAS through products and services delivered across multiple channels.
  • Develop robust Research & Development process/procedure, train colleagues and ensure compliance.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders to identify good practice in R&D/testing/marketing of products and services
  • Work closely with Strategic Product Development Lead to undertake regular reviews on product and service workstreams and prioritise accordingly
  • Lead the Product Design and Delivery team to support and maximise capability, ensuring they are equipped with right tools and skills to enable effective delivery
  • Identify, develop and test new income generation streams in collaboration with Product Development Strategic Lead and SLT,
  • Support engagement with internal and external stakeholders in the product design, test, and evaluation, including customers and Product Development (Stakeholder) Panel.
  • Ensure efficient and effective management of Product Development (Stakeholder) Panel meetings
  • Delivery of new and improved products, ensuring that specifications, briefs and training are comprehensive enough to ensure successful delivery in the marketplace
  • Support cross-directorate working to ensure collaboration with Marketing, Insight, Digital, strategy & external affairs etc.
  • Lead team and create an entrepreneurial, ‘can-do’ culture that drives innovation. Support team to learn, grow and develop and role-modelling organisational values
  • Drive and maintain standards and ensuring compliance to organisational policies e.g. branding and accessibility.
  • Build effective, purposeful partnerships internally to ensure service delivery targets are met, SLA’s are managed effectively, knowledge transfer and culture of collaboration.
  • New Product Pipeline – Accountable for ensuring requests and ideas for new products are considered and agreed in collaboration with service areas.
  • Effective management of team members and or stakeholders and/ or colleagues.
  • Support the strategic and operational aims of the organisation, prioritise products that will expand business solutions and/or support Subject matter Experts sharing best practice and supporting colleagues across business areas.
  • Risk management including but not limited to cost management, timelines and slippage, knowledge of plagiarism and copyright and ensuring a sound knowledge or risk identification and mitigation throughout the team.
  • Good knowledge of and ensure all products comply accessibility requirements.
