JOB SUMMARY:

Product Manager (Troy, MI). Responsibilities include: Shaping the modern user experience of self-service, on-demand computing services specifically for Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) applications. Defining and owning the roadmap and strategy for Altair One engineering computation services. Altair One is a data analytics technology plus scalable HPC (High Performance Computing) and cloud resource that provides access to every Altair CAE product and the power to solve on any scale. Working with modelling and visualization application teams to gather their needs and translating them for the development team. Working with the multi-physics solvers team to understand their requirements and incorporate them into the product development roadmap. Assessing current competitor offerings, seeking opportunities for differentiation. Appraising new product ideas and strategize appropriate go-to-market plans. Capturing and communicating product specifications based on user insights, business objectives and industry trends. Specifying high level product requirements for the engineering team. Collaborating with engineering, QA and production engineering teams for timely release of the product. Providing marketing with insights on key differentiators and messages.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 1 year of experience as a Product Engineer or any related position in application engineering. Must have 12 months of experience in CAE engineering and design, evaluation of product financial viability, market fit and vendor availability.
