They are seeking to appoint a Product Manager with automotive accessories / electronics experience to join our team to assist in the sourcing, integration, and management of new products into the automotive sector. As a leading supplier of innovative equipment to a range of large corporates, they have an enviable position within an essential equipment market and can take products through from engineering concept & design to manufacturing.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
To be considered for this position it is critical that you:
- Bring a foundation of experience within a Product Management role, sourcing products for the automotive industry, ideally from global suppliers
- Have a strong understanding of electronic products, being either tertiary or trade qualified and being exposed to automotive accessories, integration &/or installation
- Possess clear and confident communication skills and are able to negotiate with suppliers
- Are technically strong enough to work down to functional component level to determine specifications
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Product Development Manager, and working within the product management team, in this hands-on role, you will be responsible for delivering projects across hardware and accessories, through effective sourcing, working with a network of global suppliers to determine exact specifications and manage the products through to market and after sales support. In this highly collaborative role, you will work at pace to enable the fast turnaround of proof of concept’s (POC’s), driving quality improvements and continuously improving products. Other activities will be as follows.
- Maintain a catalogue of all products including specifications, supplier, and pricing details
- Develop exacting product specifications and requirements
- Continuously monitor global markets and competitors to ensure new products are capturing latest technologies and trends
- Hands on design / integration / development work
- Act as a point of contact for internal teams for all product functions/specifications enquiries
- Arrange the testing or installation of sourced products with relevant teams
- Assist in the readiness for Proof of Concepts, managing communication with internal teams
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing suppliers
- Composition of step-by-step instructions for Installation Technicians
