THE OPPORTUNITY:

Based out of our Wacol branch within the Mining Solutions department we are seeking a Product Manager – Data Services to commence ASAP on an initial 9 month contract!
The Product Manager - Data Services acts as the primary point of contact for all matters relating to communication status of all Komatsu mining data logging and transfer devices.
The team assists with machine connectivity, gains insights from machine data, drives efficiencies through better understanding of machine usage, and helps customers optimise productivity and fleet utilisation, providing an additional level of support for our customers.
From various data sources the team monitors communication status’, develops troubleshooting and user guides, trains staff and customers and managers the overall health of machine communication.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support – Install of devices in the field and workshop to ensure the initial commissioning and communication is successful.
  • Machine connectivity – Provide support and take action to maintain a high level of machine connectivity (mobile phone technology, satellite, LAN, Wi-Fi etc)
  • Training – conducting planned and ad-hoc training sessions for both Komatsu and customers.
  • Facilitates knowledge transfer and understanding for internal and external stakeholders on the application of the data transfer tools in relation to how it is applied to our equipment and how it can improve performance.
  • A key challenge in this role is to having high level data transfer knowledge as well as being familiar with mine site infrastructure and data transfer methods.
  • Data completeness – Assisting the service group in fault finding non-communicating machines
  • Data accuracy – Ensure data sets are complete and being received in the required format.
  • Data accuracy – Ensure the data is located in the correct area in the databases.
  • Innovation – Enhance Komatsu data gathering devices to be a more effective tool for staff and Customers
  • Provide timely and detailed feedback on issues/actions taken
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosis of non-communicating machines
  • Complete & circulate reports on machine connectivity
  • Investigate, feedback, and rectify common failure modes
  • Collaboration – Be willing and prepared to assist other teams as required with machine connectivity related tasks
