Description:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong experience in news production, with a specific focus on editorial planning and coordination workflows.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with editorial, operations, and technology teams in a media environment.
  • Knowledge of various newsroom systems and vendors, with the ability to stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in the field.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education in a relevant field.
  • Familiarity with media management workflows, news planning tools, and newsroom coordination platforms.
  • 5-7 years of experience in product management, particularly in media or news-related projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Background in software development or UX design, particularly in solutions related to news and content production.
  • Experience organizing and leading workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to create compelling presentations and guide conversations.
    The hiring range for this position in New York is $142,600.00-$191,100.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with editorial and operations teams to introduce and implement new workflows and technologies that address their needs
  • Engage with vendors and internal software teams to develop solutions, create integrations, and optimize workflows for news planning
  • Assist in managing the entire lifecycle of the news planning platform, spanning from design and development to deployment, and provide ongoing post-launch support
  • Work closely with software development, media and engineering operations, product development, and editorial groups to refine and iterate on solutions to enhance user experience
  • Play a key role in the change management process, ensuring smooth transitions and user adoption of new platforms and technologies.
  • Design and implement training programs for staff on the new system and workflows.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the latest trends and technologies related to news planning and show production planning
