To support our growing structure and strategic growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager to join the Peter Alexander Support Office team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Design & Product Ladieswear, this position is responsible for managing the design, production & sourcing of product in line with the Peter Alexander brand direction. This role will see you reinterpreting our AUS collections for the UK market to attract existing and new customers to the brand.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to

  • Reinterpret the AU collections for the UK market ensuring range reflects climate and customer needs of region
  • Deliver on the seasonal buying strategies and budget for your categories
  • Procurement of fabric for forward ranges and working with suppliers to manage the inventory
  • Approve all detail of final product in line with original design brief and ensure garments meet brand quality and UK mandatory standards
  • In conjunction with category Product Managers select appropriate fabrics, trims, finish for garments
  • Work closely with the category Product Managers & Planners in the development and execution of the product to align across regions
  • Work closely with the Retail & PA teams to understand the customer view of the product, what’s working/not working and why – and action feedback through category management/OTB decisions
  • Manage existing supplier base performance and negotiate costs to achieve overall initial margin budgets
  • Management of product critical path for all garments in line with key dates for region ensuring on time delivery
  • In conjunction with planning team conduct seasonal review of business & set financial targets for the coming season
  • Continually monitor performance to business season plan
  • Understand the target market, who the customer is and select commercial seasonally appropriate product for the region
  • Lead, coach and motivate a team of 3 to enhance their capability to deliver on clearly defined individual, team and brand objectives

Required Skills & Experience

  • Retail Apparel Product Management/Product Development/Buying experience
  • Knowledge and experience of Adobe Suit and Illustrator essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Excel
  • Experience with UK retail landscape and market advantageous
  • Experience managing high volume within a fast-paced department
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of production techniques demonstrating a strong understanding of garment construction and fit specifications
  • Experience in managing supplier relationships and negotiations (experience with overseas suppliers critical)
  • Effective leadership and team management skills and proven stakeholder management ability
