We are looking for the right individual to bring creative ideas and energy to champion technology in the public sector. Join a growing Product team with strong mentorship and ample opportunities to improve technology in San Francisco’s public health system.
As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for managing technology products for San Francisco City Option, Healthy San Francisco, and Enrollment Services, health coverage programs aiming to provide universal health care in San Francisco. The experienced Product Manager will help improve healthcare access and coverage in San Francisco by deeply understanding internal and external stakeholders, overseeing the entire product lifecycle for internal applications and data interchanges, managing technical vendors, and recommending solutions to support Program staff and participants.
Please note that while SFHP supports a hybrid work environment, this role will be required to be onsite and in-office a minimum of 4 days per month.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage backlog of product initiatives, enhancements, new features, and bug fixes.
  • Collaborate actively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather and write detailed user stories and requirements.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering Teams to successfully deploy product initiatives.
  • Work with Program staff to understand priorities and create product roadmap.
  • Conduct user research with Program staff and participants to deeply understand user needs and opportunities.
  • Manage triage and resolution of production issues; provide root cause analysis and disseminate status reports.
  • Create and track success metrics for product initiatives.
  • Manage product and release communication with internal stakeholders across multiple departments.
  • Manage user acceptance testing and sign off on releases.
  • Maintain product documentation.
  • Manage vendor relationships by communicating required changes or bugs to vendor teams and facilitating resolution.
  • Conduct market research and make build or buy recommendations for new technology products.
  • Foster an environment that solicits and enlists diverse and inclusive perspectives and approaches to better serve program staff and participants.
