ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE

A rare Product Manager opportunity will enable you take a leading role in Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles’ future success and the transition to electromobility. The Product Manager reports to the Head of Product for Volkswagen brand. This role will be to champion your portfolio of Volkswagen SUV and Passenger Cars. You will be responsible for the product strategy of key and iconic models, ensuring that VGA sources, delivers and markets the strongest mix of products for the Australian market. You will also work with adjacent corporate communications, sales and marketing teams to drive the Go-To-Market process, ensuring your portfolio of products are a success. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and energetic Product leader to propel their career for a much loved Brand with iconic models such as the Golf.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Seek understanding of consumer automotive trends and needs
  • Closely monitor market and price development of Volkswagen vehicle segments
  • Manage and negotiate product range, positioning, specifications and pricing
  • Monitor and maintain Product Strategy to ensure models are consistent with brand image and goals
  • Approve and guide product related internal and consumer facings assets and communications
  • Work with the internal marketing and sales planning teams across areas such as strategic product planning, volume and mixes of vehicles
  • Lead the development of model-by-model lifecycle planning
  • Present at corporate communications events including to media

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following:

  • Strong automotive industry knowledge (market and technical)
  • A Business, Marketing, Finance degree or similar is preferred
  • Strong communication skills across varying audiences (e.g. customer contact, internal communications and dealerships)
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment for vehicle registration and specification as well as advertising and communications
  • Strong negotiation and practical problem-solving skills with an operational focus
  • Training program development and delivery
  • Robust attention to detail, project management and time management skill
