Onsite in Holland, OH and moves to hybrid (2-days remote/3 days onsite) after 90-days
Full-time, 8:30a-5pm

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Comics and Manga Product Marketing Coordinator collaborates and supports the comics and manga team in promotion of comics, graphic novels, and manga for digital consumption. This includes staying current with industry knowledge and trends, popular creators, key release dates and promotional support, trending genres and competitors. Creates, in conjunction with Comics Lead/Manager, book collections and recommendations for digital distribution. Will also plan marketing promotions and efforts in support of recommendations to increase engagement and grow revenue.

SKILLS:

  • Basic Computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Must be attentive to detail
  • Must have the ability to read/review publications for relevant title and industry information
  • Must possess solid research skills
  • Must be organized
  • Possess the ability to work independently
  • Excellent follow-up and follow-through skills with an ability to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of publishing industry is preferred

Preferred Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field, or equivalent experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-3 years marketing experience
  • 1-3 years experience in the Comics, Manga or related genre

  • Assists the Comics/Manga team in the prioritization of potential and current vendors and their titles for promotion in marquees, featured placements, social media, and other potential channels.
  • Assists in the development of promotional materials.
  • Works with designers, copywriters, content team and other fellow staff to ensure messaging and imagery are true to the Midwest Tape/hoopla brands and help our libraries connect with patrons.
  • Collaborates with others on the Content team to seek opportunities to drive sales and improve the overall quality of the category – both by working with select vendors and across internal departments.
  • Analyzes data to evaluate the performance of the category and develop strategies accordingly.
  • Interfaces with select vendors in a support role.
  • Curates and creates noteworthy and in-demand collections for libraries and patrons.
  • Uploads collections, titles and marketing assets to the website.
  • Conducts ongoing reviews of the hoopla website and hoopla title information for errors or misinformation and informs IT or data on updates to be addressed.
  • Understands and uses Tableau as a valuable resource for reporting metrics.
  • Gathers and uses data to make thoughtful marketing recommendations and decisions.
  • Conducts special projects as required by the lead/manager.
  • Remains informed of events within the industry through monitoring of industry news sources.
  • Monitors incoming new release title information and prioritizes data entry and marketing opportunities
