POSITION OVERVIEW

The Product Marketing Intern (PMI) is a self-motivated team member, responsible for market and product research within the Mission Driven Organization (MDO) Business Unit (BU).
The PMI will work closely with the Senior Product Marketing Manager to investigate and summarize the product and market expansion opportunity for the Diligent Community governance management SaaS solution into English-speaking countries outside of North America, specifically the UK, Ireland, and Australian markets. At the end of the internship, the PMI will present a summary report of product and marketing considerations and recommendations for future market expansion.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communication or related field
  • Ability to work both independently, seek guidance as needed, and work within a global team across timezones
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong planning, organization and project management skills
  • Other traits: Curious, critical-thinker, detail-oriented, positive, adaptable, growth mindset, with a strong work ethic and committed to delivering a quality end result
  • Able to commute to our Galway office location

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough market research on the target countries, including analyzing the current market landscape, and identifying key competitors and their product feature sets
  • Document the nuances of regional Open Meetings laws and regulations to ensure product fit and inform content and sales/marketing positioning
  • Identify potential challenges and opportunities for our product in these markets, including any recommended product enhancements that may be required to meet local regulatory requirements or compete with existing market leaders
  • Based on research, summarize ideal customer profile (ICP) including target markets/verticals and personas in each region
  • Identify persona pain points, market cycles, buying triggers etc.
  • Identify the best channels for reaching these personas, including any industry-specific regional events and possible partnerships
  • Identify marketing and sales assets, and content that would need to be updated/created to support a regional product launch
