Danfoss EDITRON is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to lead modification and improvement (PMI) tasks for our On-Board Charger within our On-Highway business.
We are establishing a PMI team as part of our Operations organization in Nordborg, consisting of Mechanical, Electronic, and Software Engineers. As a member of this team, you will also collaborate with various functional areas globally.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work as a liaison between our Operations team in Nordborg and our highly skilled R&D and Engineering teams located in Finland.

BACKGROUND & SKILLS

With a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, you possess a solid educational foundation. You bring to the table more than 2 years of experience in PMI Development or related operational roles, demonstrating your expertise in the field.

Additionally, you bring:

  • Proficiency in PLM software
  • Experience with BoM control and understanding of change management processes
  • Experience in working in a manufacturing engineering environment
  • Technical awareness/understanding of engineering applications and manufacturing processes
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

As a person, you are a proactive problem solver, known for your ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams. You possess a strategic thinking overview, focusing on the path ahead, enabling you to approach challenges with confidence. Your excellent communication and presentation skills ensure effective interaction with stakeholders.
Familiarity with an internationally oriented environment and experience working with diverse cultures and backgrounds are advantageous.

Responsibilities:

As our PMI Engineer at the EDITRON On-Highway Business unit, you will lead product modifications and improvements, continuously enhancing our engineering methods to consistently raise the bar on our capabilities.
You will oversee designs that are in production and facilitate design maintenance throughout the product life cycle, covering tasks such as design, documentation, design validation testing, debugging and change control.
In this role, you will contribute to major PMI projects or lead smaller PMI projects within product engineering, addressing areas such as cost reduction, customer-driven changes, DFM/DFA, and material substitutions.
Collaborating with the Finland-based team, you will execute mechanical engineering changes and facilitate the Change Control process.
You will provide guidance to Manufacturing, Procurement, and other Operations functions on product engineering matters, including material disposition, and evaluating alternative parts or materials from a product engineering viewpoint. You will also deliver precise project time estimates to support planning, covering PMI projects like customization, manufacturability, quality and cost down initiatives.
Furthermore, you will facilitate the Engineering support function in the Change Control process (Team Center)
