About the Role
Enable and inspire a multi-disciplinary team (’Squad’) to pursue its mission, by guiding them on ‘what’ work should be completed by the squad. The Product Owner constantly prioritises tasks and the squad’s backlog with the customer at the heart of their decision making. The Product Owner also ensures that the work is strategically aligned to the tribe mission and engages with other Product Owners to align and manage interdependencies. This role is also a people manager, and a key leadership role, galvanising the squad around a vision and supporting them to successfully deliver customer value at pace.
As the Product Owner – Data and Decisioning within the Commercial Digital and Customer Experience, you will lead a team responsible for the data structuring, real time decisioning capabilities, consuming external financial data and back-end services. You and your team will be responsible for the delivery of these components which would build upcoming features.

What will your day look like?
This role is accountable for designing and re-engineering digital propositions to aid the expansion of commercial lending and its functions
Decisioning – designing and elaborating requirements for new features and continuously optimising the origination channel’s real time decisioning capabilities
Ingestion of external data – Ingesting, validating and transforming external data to aid in real time decisioning
Transformation - Transforming current as-is lending processes into an efficient digital online workflow
Data modelling – Creating, updating and maintaining the product / feature level data model
Squad Backlog – ownership and management of backlog including quarterly planning across a broad squad remit
People leadership – direct and indirect people leadership including coaching and delivery through others
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Deep expertise on data models and integration of different systems
Ability to conceptualise conversion of manual process to digital solutions.
Construct data mapping specifications between different systems that are built on different platforms.
Analyse raw data coming from different systems, design validation algorithms and exception handling methods.
Perform analysis, conduct impact assessments, understand potential change impacts of implementing a feature.
Proven problem-solving skills leveraging networks and available resources
Strong influencing skills ensuring alignment with internal partners managing conflicting priorities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence outcomes at all levels.
Comfortable with ambiguity and finding solutions where answers aren’t always clear
Ability to galvanise a diverse group of people around a common mission and influence stakeholders at all levels to achieve commercial outcomes
Ability to quickly adapt and grasp new skills and content.
Proven analytical skills and evidence based decision making
People leadership with proven ability to deliver through others, coach and develop capability
Successfully built a network of strong relationships
