The Mission
About the tribe?
APDP (Analytics Platforms and Data Products) has a purpose to build data analytics products that benefit ING’s employees, clients and the bank overall. With an enthusiastic team of about 80 - engineers, data scientists, UXers and product owners we build solutions that make the bank more data driven.
We are a group of data enthusiasts with a mission to create an end-to-end Data Analytics Platforms called DAP Next for ING Bank. We are part of the ING Analytics (INGA) department, under the Analytics Platforms and Data Products (APDP) tribe. DAP Next is an internal Data Analytics Platform with over 500+ high value projects across the domains of Fraud, Wholesale Banking, Retail, and others. We have over 1000+ users, 100s of models in our Exploration environment and dozens in Production/Execution. And this is just the start for us!
Your day to day
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to lead our development squads and facilitate seamless journeys for our users. This is a joined effort between ING units, and you are going to be part of a distributed international and multi-cultural team. Each of our squads is responsible for some of the components of our Platform, be that in Exploration or Execution, in our Private Cloud or within a Public Cloud provider; all contribute to the overall vision of building a scalable, secure and performant platform to enable advanced analytics and AI for ING. There is plenty of work and fun down this road.

Role & Responsibilities

• Lead your squad’s discovery and delivery roadmap: find (data) problems, prioritize ideation backlog, design and execute experiments to decide what problems need solving
• Work with a squad of Engineers, SRE, and Data engineers to discover the potential of a product idea, the user problem (user research) and validate and prototype
• Ability to develop structured product concepts and features from abstract ideas and increased user demands with complex challenges
• Manage all the stakeholders in the tribe
• Work closely with area Product Manager and Tech Lead on product strategy and vision
• Understanding and enthusiasm for technology, advanced analytics and data science methods

What you’ll bring to the team
Experience: 3+ years of experience with Product Owner and/or Product Manager role, with a good understanding of product management methodologies such as Lean, Agile and Design Thinking,

Knowledge:

• You are familiar with Data, Advanced Analytics and Data-driven Products
• You are comfortable with technical components and software engineering: Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka for streaming ingestions, ETL methodologies, Kubernetes, Distributed Data Systems/Distributed Computing/Data migration, SQL, Python/Scala, CI/CD pipelines
• You have good background in BigData and/or Software Development
• You are great with people, being able to shape cooperation, keep communication smooth and clear
• You know how to react under priority changes and unexpected situations in a team

Nice to have:

• You have been working in complex team setups
• You have experience with product design, experimentation and discovery
• You’ve been a part of a Platform team
• You have worked with an Analytics enablement team
• You are familiar with cloud technologies
• You’ve used Azure Boards/Azure DevOps before.

Foreign languages: English (advanced)
Education: nice to have bachelor’s degree (or higher) in an IT related fiel
