Role Purpose:
The Product Owner role is key in delivering and supporting new strategic people and workforce Software as a Service (SaaS)-based technologies for our employees in stores, distribution centres and central offices. While working directly with a development team or a third-party SaaS product team, the Product Owner will identify and deliver new requirements with focused prioritisation based upon value to our customers, employees and business.

Responsibilities:

  • The Product Owner is key part of a product development team and will work directly with third party SaaS providers, project managers, business analysts, developers, and testers to deliver technology change to enhance both employee experience and the operations of the business.
  • The Product Owner is responsible for ensuring the success of a project and is responsible for managing and prioritising the product backlog in order to maximize the value that product delivers.
  • The Product Owner will be the key point of contact on behalf of the customer(s) or user(s) and hold responsibility and ownership of the elicitation of requirements as user stories ensuring that the user stories meet customer and user requirements.
  • The Product Owner will communicate with the development team to explain the product features to be implemented and address queries that come from the development team on key user requirements.
  • The Product owner will be responsible for ensuring the best use of new features delivered by a third-party SaaS provider.
  • The Product Owner will be accountable for the writing and testing of acceptance criteria.
  • The Product Owner will collaborate with various stakeholders and act as the conduit between employees, business leaders, development teams, project managers within IT, the People team, Store and DC operations across both Superdrug and Savers.
  • Once the initial body of change is rolled out, the Product Owner will continue to enhance and deliver value through continuous improvement of the product. To do so, the Product Owner will capture and consolidate solution performance information and user feedback to identify future improvement and change to be developed by the team .
  • To ensure success, a Product Owner must earn the respect of the entire organization in order to get the support they need for the decisions they make.
