Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a member of the Sales Development and Product Specialist team, this professional’s role is to demonstrate, provide and explain the technical and commercial advantages of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s SEM, FIB/DualBeam and other assigned products, to increase the business potential in the Life Sciences market. This key role supports the delivery of pipeline growth and development, and is instrumental to supporting the growth strategy in EMEA region for Electron Microscopy Life Sciences customers.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, or PhD or equivalent in a science / technical field, with Life Sciences being strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- Extensive experience with SEMs and DualBeam (FIB-SEM) systems and other high-end analytical equipment, and sample preparation for electron microscopy, and other SEM and FIB related techniques. Experience with life science samples and applications is helpful
- Work within a matrix environment both with clients and internally with a commercial team
- Previous client facing commercial experience desirable.
- Customer relationship and pipeline building skills.
- Ability to conduct business in languages additional to English, specifically French and or German is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
You will build and maintain customer relations with strategic accounts, which could involve multi-site national resources, international partners or major global accounts.
Using your technical knowledge and excellent listening skills you will be a consistent point of technical contact for the product portfolio represented. Working the sales cycle from once the customer is engage with the Account Manager to closure, this role will collaborate with many aspects to make business successful, including NanoPort colleagues (our demonstration facilities), Account Managers, Product Leaders in Marketing and Management functions.
Serve as member of a team that provides technical assistance to customers, field sales, and customer service personnel on Thermo Fisher Scientific products and their related applications.

- Ability to discuss benefits of electron microscopy with both novices as well as expert microscopists
- Understands customer markets, requirements, laboratory processes, methods and regulations.
