Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Production Control Manager you will oversee the planning, scheduling, and coordination of manufacturing processes. To efficient utilization of resources, minimize downtime, and maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production targets. Additionally, you’ll analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post Secondary degree Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • 5-7 Years logistics experience in a fast paced automotive parts manufacturing environment
  • Ability to interpret and respond to customer requirements, technical procedures, logistical systems and government regulations.
  • Must maintain strong training, problem solving, and action planning skills with a desire to develop system approaches.
  • Ability to write reports, correspondence and procedural manuals as well as to effectively present data/information to large groups, including customers.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP/Enterprise One type systems.
  • Experience with JD Edwards an asset
  • Solid application/experience with Kan-Ban and Heijunka systems.
  • Inventory control/Physical Inventory.
  • Customer relations background.
  • APICS certification.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises plant-level employees assigned to meet customer and supplier requirements/planning including support functions such as shipping and receiving.
  • Acts as logistics facilitator to ensure all elements of the distribution process are coordinated in such a way that customer requirements and time constraints are met.
  • Responsible for customer service, domestic and/or international shipping.
  • Provides direction to team members based on general policies and management guidance while supporting the corporate goals.
  • Interprets and executes policies and procedures that typically affect reporting organizational units.
  • Accomplishes results with supervisors, team members, and/or through experienced salaried employees who exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments
  • Functions as an advisor to a unit regarding tasks, projects, and operations.
  • Actively involved in daily operations when required to meet schedules or to resolve complex/systemic challenges.
  • Required to analyze, prepare and propose the Sales and Operations Plan to plant management.
  • Ensures work/projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Approves expenditures within budget policies and guidelines.
  • Provides overall management strategy and develop robust systems for plant inventory levels including raw, WIP and finished goods to meet inventory goals and support demand requirements.
