Our customer base includes Air Canada, WestJet, Canadian Coast Guard, Purolator, Petro Canada, Home Hardware, Alaska Airlines and a broad base of government entities such as the Federal Government of Canada.
Job Summary: Reporting to the Manager, Production, you will be responsible for communicating daily with factories by following up on open purchase orders and ensuring on-time deliveries. You will work with your manager to resolve production problems to again ensure an on-time delivery and quality product. Additional responsibilities include creating purchase orders/coordinating payments to our vendors and working with our nominated freight forwarder for shipments
Responsibilities:
- Daily communication with domestic and overseas vendors
- Communicate with domestic or overseas vendors on a daily basis and respond to all requests in a timely manner. Work to develop and execute corrective action plan(s) for exception and /or late delivery.
- Work closely with product development and technical development teams to meet company SOP stages and key dates.
- Follow up on shipping status to ensure goods are delivered on time. Proactively anticipate problems or bottlenecks and bring proposed solutions to Supervisor’s attention.
- Determines progress of work and provides information on changes in processing methods.
- Enter purchase orders in the system and prepare breakdowns for vendors
- Review invoices and packing lists against purchase order for payment to vendors
- Coordinate bookings by our vendors with nominated freight forwarder if need
- Complete other tasks and assignments as required by management
- Visiting domestic contractors if needed
