Job Description

As part of the Oetiker Production Engineering team, you will be driving key development activities for various metal forming products and manufacturing processes:

  • Provide engineering support for the design and development of new and existing products, processes, equipment and tooling while maintaining KPIs and ensuring quality – ZeroDefect mentality
  • Lead, coordinate and collaborate project engineering activities and cross-functional teams by applying agile project management methodologies and utilization of latest collaboration tools (MS Project, MS Outlook, MS Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Utilize technical risk management tools according to AIAG standards
  • Define technical requirements, manage suppliers and provide adequate training/ support to various departments during the implementation of deliverables throughout the various APQP Phases
  • Manage the assembly of production machines and tooling, ensuring a smooth hand-over to production by preparing Technical Work Instructions, reports and taking action to the closure of open items
  • Conduct Functional Acceptance Testing and product validations
  • Provide problem-solving support for production continuous improvement activities (OPS) and non-conformities

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven drive (energy, determination, motivation) with a can-do/go-and-see mentality
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate and negotiate effectively across all levels and all functions of the organization
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills in English
  • Critical thinker and problem solver
  • Project Management, self-directed organization & attention to detail
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Tool & Die design and general machining skills
  • Thorough understanding of GD&T practices

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years’ experience as Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineer with focus on Product, Process, or Testing, preferably in an automotive, high volume or metal stamping manufacturing environment(s)
  • Mechanical Engineering (BSc, MSc) or Engineering Technologist Diploma combined with relevant work experience
  • Experienced in Quality Systems such as IATF 16949 and ISO 9001
  • Design / Process Design: 3D-CAD experience, preferably SolidWorks
