Description:

Framestore is one of the largest visual effects and computer animation studios in the world, with over 30 years’ experience in bringing extraordinary images to film, episodic, advertising and content, collecting every possible industry award along the way. Framestore has offices in London, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Montreal, Vancouver, Melbourne and Mumbai.
As an integral part of a global finance team, the Production Finance Analyst will contribute to improving the financial performance of Framestore through detailed and accurate financial reporting across Film and Episodic projects. You will work closely with Production and the wider finance teams to provide insightful and timely financial based on business needs. This is ideally a hybrid role based in Melbourne.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of weekly project budgets and maintain rolling budgets for film & episodic projects to monitor set financial KPIs of large awards.
  • Work closely with Production and Management to assess show related financial risk & opportunities and advise accordingly.
  • Provide monthly/weekly reporting to senior management & crewing teams.
  • Run scenarios for producers, providing detailed analysis of impact of changes on financial performance.
  • Prepare costings for any project extensions and advise on financial impact.
  • Manage billings on each project in accordance with contracted payment schedule and maximising revenue on the project.
  • Ensure all client overages or extras are billed in a timely manner and correctly reported.
  • Reconcile billed amount to total revenue recognised on each project.
  • Work with Framestore finance team to complete Month End reconciliations by project.
  • Maintain an overview of project outsourcing and raise purchase orders as required.
  • Conduct regular meetings with Production to review project financial performance.
  • Attend regular meetings with senior management to report on project performance.
  • Assist in preparing documentation required for annual audit.
  • Ad hoc reporting/modelling responsibilities as required.

Responsibilities:

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE IN THIS ROLE WILL INCLUDE:

  • Ability to form strong working relationships.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in reporting and analysis.
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to create & maintain financial models.
  • Experience working in film or episodic production finance teams – VFX industry knowledge an asset but not essential.
