Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
In the role of Production Manager, you will provide effective and efficient leadership and management of the Production Team across all activities associated within the processing facility including preparation and handling of raw materials, operation of machinery, packaging and quality control.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, and working alongside another Production Manager, you will provide guidance and direction to line leaders and a broader team of around 120 skilled production workers. You will work closely with other key stakeholders on the Burleigh Heads site including Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Technical / R&D, Health and Safety and People & Culture.
You may be required to work an early shift (4am start) or later shift 8am (start) Monday – Friday. Subject to production needs, occasionally it is necessary to work weekends and public holidays and these are rotated between the two Production Managers. You will need to have some flexibility around your start and finish times to meet the needs of the business.
Job Description
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ARE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Leading and supporting the production team in Safety, Quality and Operational outputs daily.
- Planning and leadership of day-to-day production operations.
- Working with Production Supervisors to allocate resources effectively and ensure efficient utilisation to achieve production objectives in line with labour budgets.
- Increasing production throughout while minimising un-necessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
- Ensuring production activities are compliant with all legislative, regulatory and customer requirements the business operates under including Safety, Quality and People Systems.
- Facilitation of effective issue resolution practices, building team member capability to own corrective actions, and create a continuous improvement environment that minimises waste
- Managing positive stakeholder relationships within the site and across the business by establishing effective processes and systems
- Effective operational planning to ensure production efficiency, with consideration for labour, machinery, raw material, stock process compliance to ensure tracking of raw materials and yield variance reporting and consumables.
