QUALIFICATIONS

* Education and Experience*

  • Bachelor’s degree. Engineering, technical based discipline preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive machine shop manufacturing management experience
  • 5+ years of P&L management experience, preferably in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing organization.
  • Lean Certification, Six Sigma Black or Green Belt or equivalent experience preferred.

SUCCESSFUL ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Dexter Leadership Skills: People Leadership, Thought Leadership and Results Leadership.
  • Mastery of Lean Manufacturing Tool Box: Value Stream Mapping, Facilitating Kaizen Events, Visual Workplace, FIFO, etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills: uses rigorous logic and methods to solve problems producing effective solutions to problem statements.
  • Excellent time management skills: concentrating effort on priorities and overall planning, awareness and response to what is due now, short and long term.
  • Strong computing skills: i.e. Power Point, Excel, Technical researching, ERP Data Analysis for buying patterns and the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to initiate and complete multiple concurrent projects.
  • High level of business acumen: Understands policies, practices, technology, trends and information and how those affect the business.

Responsibilities:

BASIC PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION

The Machine Shop Production Manager is responsible for leading all activities of Machine Shop manufacturing including: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Material Management.
Implement the manufacturing plan, delight the customer, adhere to our QMS systems, and supports the growth and business objectives of the organization.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a safe work environment for all employees. Work proactively to eliminate risks in the environment.
  • Implement the manufacturing plan, establishing procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.
  • Meet and exceed KPI (Key Performance Indicator) targets.
  • Develop production talent to be prepared for and support growth initiatives.
  • Provide data and support to strategic initiatives and special projects – be the subject matter expert on production data; including revenue numbers and staffing to support that achievement.
  • Implement and support policies and procedures that support business objectives and improve engagement and accountability.
  • Perform other duties or any other tasks/work duties as assigned from time to time.
