Job Description: Q.E.D. Systems, Inc., an experienced marine engineering, planning, and ship modernization firm, is seeking a dynamic leader skilled in planning, scheduling, and maintaining the highest standards of production performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing background, with experience in naval welding programs and a demonstrated capability in implementing lean manufacturing principles.

JOB REQUIREMENTS / SKILL SETS:

The candidate shall be able to perform the following tasks:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production management role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO quality standards and experience in an ISO-regulated environment.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Oversee daily operations of the fabrication shop ensuring that production schedules, quality, and cost objectives are met.
  • Develop and implement detailed plans and schedules to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of production processes.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma practitioner, with proven track record of implementing successful process improvements preferred.
  • Enhance manufacturing operations through the integration of ISO standards and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Monitor and evaluate workflow and assembly methods and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to streamline production phases.
  • Experience with Naval Welding (Nav Weld) programs is highly desirable.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and training to production staff.
  • Forecast needs and manage procurement of materials and equipment.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
    Security Clearance/Naval Facility Access: U.S. citizenship is required. Must be able to meet and maintain eligibility for U.S. Secret Clearance and/or be able to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
