The Production Manager is responsible for the leadership of the production facility to ensure that the manufacturing process is completed as required, in compliance with safety, quality, and production standards. The Production Manager will Lead, Inspire, Build, and Motivate a high-performance team that delivers on our higher purpose – ‘Enriching the lives of our partners’ and influence behavior to create a culture of excellence.
As a member of the Production team and as a new Steelway family member, you will join a diverse, dynamic group of highly motivated individuals that bring with them a wide array of talents, skills and backgrounds.

Responsibilities:

  • Dependably demonstrates a relentless obsession with higher purpose, values alignment, focus, simplicity, and clarity.
  • Manage daily operations on the production floor, ensuring efficient, and effective manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure production schedules and targets are met within the specified time frame and budget.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineering, quality control, and other departments to ensure smooth production workflows.
  • Assist in managing the production budget, monitoring expenses, and seeking cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement among the production staff.
  • Responsible for maintaining delivery commitments and improving product and process non-conformances.
  • Maintains a regular presence on the production floor and works to maintain high levels of communication with Production Leaders and employees.
  • Practice active problem-solving strategies to effectively address issues as they arise.
  • Ensures that all safety policies are followed and remain relevant as the company grows and changes.
  • Allocate resources effectively, including workforce, equipment, and materials, to optimize production output.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production, quality, and efficiency, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Recommends staffing levels for production activities, including recommendation for recruitment and selection.
  • Responsible for ensuring the highest level of employee training to support the business.
  • Maintains a high level of communication with the project managers, builder services team and engineering / drafting team, giving regular updates on capacity levels and/or constraints
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in manufacturing technology and implement innovative solutions to improve production processes.
  • Overseeing the administration of the Steelway Employee Association agreement and ensure that employees questions and concerns are answered promptly.
  • Interact with all Production employees while reporting to the VP of Product Fulfillment. Production Leaders, the Manufacturing Scheduler, and Training and Quality Coordinator will report directly to the Production Manager.
