Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Production Planner, responsible for ensuring the detailed plan is complete in accordance with Integrated Master Schedule Time Fence Rules to highest quality. The Production Planner is responsible for ensuring that the detailed plan has targets set, budgets aligned, and scope has been reviewed with Production prior to starting the work. Must have a strong understanding of resource & capacity planning and build a knowledge of the material alignment to the schedule.
This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Recognized Diploma in technical discipline (Engineering, Engineering Technology/Technician or similar) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in a planning and/or production environment.
  • Ability to employ critical thinking to solve complex problems and develop sustainable solutions.
  • Experience with data management and related toolsets and their utilization in a manufacturing environment.
  • Accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment with multiple conflicting priorities.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro.
    All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build Job Pack schedule in accordance with the Integrated Master Schedule and Work Package schedule in AVEVA.
  • Assign Resources, to the skill level, based on allocated budgets, and Norms.
  • Work with Engineering, Pre-Production and Production personnel at all levels to Communicate schedules and requirements to stakeholders via schedule reviews, schedule delivery meetings to gain business buy-in.
  • Ensure Job Packages are released to Production on schedule at minimum 2-weeks prior to Production start date with all scheduling items complete.
  • Manage Job Pack issues after release to ensure lessons are captured for future ships & Production can proceed with their scope.
