Description:

One of our manufacturing clients in St. Thomas, ON region is looking for a Production Supervisor for their facility.
Shift: Days/Afternoon

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team comprising 5 - 10 lead hands and 40 hourly employees to ensure overall team effectiveness.
  • Foster a secure and orderly work environment by instructing and counseling staff on safety practices, aiming to achieve Safety and 5S goals.
  • Drive attainment of quality objectives by actively participating in and leading enhancements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost across daily management, diverse Quality and Lean tools, and Process Problem Solving initiatives.
  • Ensure the implementation of the production plan to satisfy customer demand. Contribute to
  • Lean Glass house and COQ initiatives to achieve TCP targets.
  • Deliver monthly briefings to hourly employees covering policies, procedures, and other updates.
  • Coordinate necessary inquiries for all team members.
  • Manage employee training, including monitoring new hires and cross-training efforts.
  • Validate production entries, address issues, and conduct regular audits of daily reports.
  • Conduct evaluations for new employees during their probationary period.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possessing background knowledge in plumbing and automotive industries is advantageous.
  • An asset includes a background in Continuous Improvement (CI) and process development.
  • Demonstrated capability in leading and inspiring teams is essential.
  • Proven experience in a comparable role is beneficial, with unionized experience considered an asset.
  • Effective communication and collaborative skills are crucial.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment is important.
  • Having a mindset geared towards continuous improvement is a valuable attribute.
