Production Supervisor
VG Meats is looking for a Production Supervisor in Simcoe, ON!
VG Meats is in search of a detail-oriented Plant Supervision professional to bring our food processing unit to new heights. Your role will be to manage our workforce, coordinate workflow across different sectors, improve operational fluidity, and safeguard the excellence of our products. You’ll take charge of stock oversight, manage safety and standard operating procedures training, and support employee progression. A crucial part of your role will be the diligent recording of production.
We are looking for someone with multiple years of experience in food and beverage manufacturing. The right candidate will resonate with VG Meats’ commitment to regenerative agricultural practices. Main duties
Supervisors in this unit group perform some or all of the following duties:
Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of workers who process, package, test and grade food, beverage and associated products
Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other departments
Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
Requisition of materials and supplies
Train staff in job duties, safety procedures and company policy
Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions
Prepare production and other reports.
Coordinate, identify, evaluate, control and prevent hazards at all stages of the food production process.
Employment requirements
Completion of secondary school is preferred.
Post-secondary education in microbiology or chemistry may be required for some positions in this group.
Several years of experience in the food, beverage or associated products processing industry are required.
