Description:

Orion Talent, the nation’s largest military recruiting firm, is currently recruiting transitioning or former military professionals for a Production Supervisor position with a leading provider of household products.
Position Details
Location: Jacksonville, IL
Compensation: $85,000 - $87,500
Shift: 12 Hour Shifts, Day and Night (615 - 630) – rotates every 28 days – 4 on 3 off

Position Description

As a Production Supervisor you will be responsible for leading the production team and supervising production workers. Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage, direct, and coordinate all activities related to a production shift to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining safety and quality.
  • Coordinate with the Scheduler to ensure daily production requirements are achieved.
  • Ensure all production data is gathered and reported correctly on a daily basis.
  • Support and improve upon quality initiatives designed to meet plant goals.
  • Ensure the department is meeting target accuracy goals and completion rate of the weekly inventory cycle counts; manage warehouse and ensure accuracy of inventory and shipping counts.
  • In locations where applicable, be responsible for complying with SQF and GMP practices and programs to ensure safe food packaging product and to report food safety problems to those with authority to take action.
  • Recruit, train, and hire employees.

Position Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Operations Management, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of related professional and progressive manufacturing experience required. Military leadership experience is a substitute.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Prior team management experience combined with a proven track record of developing, coaching, and mentoring a diverse staff.
  • Union experience is a plus.
  • SAP and/or Oracle experience preferred.
