ABOUT THE ROLE:
Be an integral part of the future of farming.
We are currently seeking a Production Systems Specialist within RDO Equipment’s VNET Precision Farming team, who will support adoption of latest release machine automation technology and prepare stakeholders for autonomous farming systems with particular focus on the Grain and Cotton industry. As the dealership expert in John Deere on-machine technology, you will lead field trials and demonstrations, plus develop and deliver training to our staff, customers and supply chain partners.
This role will service the Darling Downs, Western Downs and Central Highlands regions.
THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Supporting the execution of the company Precision Ag strategy with support of a team of Precision Ag specialists
- Determining applicability of new release machine automation technology to local farming systems.
- Work with RDO’s key account customers to identify Precision Ag solutions applicable to their agribusiness.
- Developing expertise in optimisation of machine setup to maximise return on investment from on-machine technology.
- Quantify and promote technology value proposition through trials and demonstrations
- Implementing customer and dealership staff training strategies on John Deere Precision Ag solutions
YOU WILL BRING THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE TO THE ROLE
- Practical experience in & understanding of agricultural mechanisation
- Practical experience in & knowledge of crop production and basic agronomy;
- Knowledge of GIS software applications and GPS hardware;
- Solid organisational, interpersonal, analytical and communication skills; and
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel to store locations and customers
