Description:

Position: Production Technician
The Production Technician will be in charge of executing most stages of mushroom cultivation in a dynamic fast-paced and high-volume work environment.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB:

  • At least 3 months of relevant work experience is required
  • Training will be provided
  • Prefer to have basic knowledge of production processes, quality control and effective manufacture of goods
  • Be physically fit, able to lift up to 25kg
  • Able to coordinate the movement of the arms, legs, and torso together when the whole body is in motion
  • Able to perform simple math and count accurately
  • Able to perform repetitive tasks
  • Excellent attention to details
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Full time availability, may work overtime, on weekends and holidays
  • No criminal record
  • Candidates need to be NZ citizens/residents

Responsibilities:

  • Communicates with the Production Manager and production team regarding planning, execution, and time management of production tasks
  • Prepares raw materials for production, including cooking, sterilizing, and inoculating grain and sawdust
  • Organizes rice for incubation
  • Packs and ships mycelium for processing
  • Ensures quality of all mushroom products through inspections
  • Cleans and maintains all production equipment in proper working order
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment
  • Restocks lab equipment and production supplies as necessary
  • Maintains physical logs relating to multiple aspects of production
  • Assists in grow rooms: harvesting, drying, watering, etc
  • Provides updates to production processes and flow
  • Safely operates a forklift and/or tractor to assist in daily work operations
  • Responsible to report food safety concerns immediately and stop operations when required
  • Any other duties the employer reasonably may require the employee to perform
    Pay rate: minimum $29.66/ hour - maximum $32/ hour
    Guaranteed hours of work per week: minimum 30 hours
