We are currently looking for energetic, hard-working Production Technician - to work full-time permanent on our Continental Day shift (7:00-19:00) at our Alliston facility. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Working directly on the line in addition to performing set-up, adjustments and troubleshooting equipment to produce a quality product in a safe and efficient manner.
Employees will be assessed throughout the program and their job performance to ensure they are successfully learning the necessary skills and qualifications. In order to achieve this, we will be partnering with local educational institutions to develop and implement a comprehensive training program for operators to successfully troubleshoot, maintain and set up the equipment

Duties performed on a rotational basis

  • Start up and be capable of operating all equipment in the department.
  • Performs one or more of the following duties on a rotating basis move full sterilizer trucks from sterilizer staging area, unload bottles onto conveyor at the same time inspecting for particulate matter on outside of bottle, inspect bottles for defects and inspect lot and expiry date on label for clarity and correctness while packing bottles into cartons, return empty trucks to staging area, stack cartons on pallet, push full skid along roller conveyor.
  • While stacking cartons check code, lot number, and expiry date for printing for clarity and correctness.
  • Push full pallet to staging area and get empty pallet.
  • Recharge electric batteries as required.
  • Responsible for the majority of all maintenance carried out on the machines and ancillary equipment.
  • Perform major/minor adjustments and be able to maintain equipment to operate per spec.
  • Observe operation to ensure machine are functioning according to specifications and make all necessary adjustments.
  • Responsible for trouble shooting and minor equipment adjustments of Solution fill machine, label applicator, label verifier and packaging equipment.
  • Adjustments to cycle times and knowledge of their functions.
  • Work to area SOP and GMP standards and maintain audit points.
  • Daily fault finding and resolving of all issues for optimum quality and output performance.
  • Perform change over and set up.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (daily, weekly, monthly, and annually).
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and maintaining records of absenteeism, hours and vacation for the department.
  • Schedule batch changes.
  • Utilize the following computer systems: EBR/GME/Dayforce. Perform required QA checks.
  • Assist in line clearances and line changeover.
  • Order labels and raw materials.
  • Support EMS implementation which includes maintaining the department in 6S condition, tracking production, identifying root cause and counter measures and participating in the IDEAS program.
  • Complete basic Preventative Maintenance on equipment and active participation in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) teams and improvements.

Duties performed on a continual or intermittent basis

  • Learn, understand and apply thorough quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
  • Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical or discrepancy issues occur
  • Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles
