PRODUCTIVITY SERVICES TECHNICIAN - MINING TIRE GROUP
Kal Tire’s Mining Division is a tire management service company that works on over 25 mining operations across Canada. We enable our customers to be productive and safe, helping them get the most out of their tires by maximizing equipment availability while ensuring a safe working environment at all times. Our business is expanding, and we are growing our Productivity Services team. Your role is to support our range of productivity tools on customer sites and identify opportunities for improvement.
The Productivity Services Technician plays a vital role within Kal Tire’s Mining Tire Group (MTG), driving operational enhancements and tire performance improvements across mining operations. This position translates analytical insights from the Reliability Analyst into actionable field applications, managing technology solutions such as weigh scales, TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems), TireSight (formerly AIS), and conducting accelerometer studies, volumetric scanning, weight studies, and other productivity enhancements. By bridging strategic planning with operational execution, the Technician contributes to innovation and service excellence, setting industry standards while embodying Kal Tire’s AIMS and Culture of Safety.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- 2-3 years of technical support or field service experience, preferably in mining or related industries, with hands-on experience in mining or fleet management systems and sensors.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Experience with Low Voltage electrical systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities.
- Self-driven with the ability to work independently in varying climatic conditions and geographical terrains.
- Excellent computer skills and attention to detail.
- Able to obtain and maintain necessary licenses and certificates.
EDUCATION
- Grade 12 or equivalent experience.
- Technical diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Extensive travel across mining sites.
- Valid driver’s license and quick technological aptitude.
- Drone Pilot License and knowledge of TCP/IP, Wi-Fi networks, and Instrumentation controls are advantageous.
