Description:

The Professional Development Assistant supports Dechert’s Global Professional Development department and specifically its training programs for lawyers and business service professionals, including new hire orientation and ongoing professional development programs, and plays a critical role in assisting in the development and running of the firm’s systems and technology that support the professional development function.
Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Under the direction of the Associate Director of Talent Development and Onboarding and the Global Director of Professional Development, assist with the design and development of in-person, virtual and digital learning programs;
  • Assist with and support learning events, such as the firm’s annual Global Associate Orientation program and social events critical for relationship building at the firm;
  • Coordinate global program logistics, including scheduling and communications, training calendars, training and performance tracking reports;
  • Under the direction of the Associate Director of Talent Development and Onboarding, help to organize learning and development events and support the delivery of related content to lawyers and business services professionals as appropriate;
  • Assist with the publication of program invitations, communications and materials for professional development programming;
  • Assist with the preparation of training reporting, including attendance tracking and program evaluations using the firm’s learning management system and other related systems;
  • Assist with the curation of professional development content on the firm’s learning management system;
  • Assist with the creation of e-learning and other online learning modules that complement the firm’s professional development programs;
  • Perform any and all other duties as necessary for efficient functioning of the Department, Office and Firm.

QUALIFICATIONS / KSAs:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred, preferably in education or instructional design.
  • Professional Development experience, in a legal environment preferred.
  • Experience of administration in a Learning Management System.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and detail orientation.
  • Able to organize and manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to prioritize own work and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional and diplomatic manner.
  • Ability to analyze data, solve problems and anticipate team needs.
  • Ability to perform work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Web technologies.
