KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Teaching, Human Resources, Psychology or Project Management.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to collaborate with staff of all levels and disciplines.
  • Experience in project management and implementation of change programs.
  • Recognises and values personal and cultural differences.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, including preparing and delivery of presentations to all levels of staff including management.
  • Experience working in a school environment and culture.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Professional Development Manager will be responsible for overseeing learning and development initiatives across Sirius College, driving the successful implementation of the College’s Professional Development Program, Thrive at Sirius (THRIVE) and providing mentorship/coaching to THRIVE leaders.
The Professional Development Manager will be leading THRIVE and is responsible for supervising Professional Development Specialists, facilitating learning and development initiatives, and coordinating calibration effort.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees all aspects of the College’s professional development programs including THRIVE at Sirius (THRIVE), staff induction program and mentorship initiatives.
  • Supervises a team of Professional Development Specialists.
  • Regularly engages with staff across all campuses via face to face meetings, video messages, emails and other channels to increase awareness of and promote THRIVE.Drafts and maintains documents such as policies and guidelines for staff and THRIVE leaders ensuring
  • program efficiency.
  • Provides guidance to staff about the processes and procedures associated with professional development initiatives.
  • Coaches staff members that require coaching as part of their learning plan.
  • Provides personalised and relevant advice to THRIVE leaders.
  • Manages the software application used for THRIVE, ensuring accurate and secure data recording.
  • Act as a THRIVE leader overseeing the professional development cycle of staff members assigned by the Executive Principal.
  • Curates and maintains a professional development library which includes professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Monitors the implementation of THRIVE, identifies issues and trends, gathers feedback and identifies opportunities for improvement and change.
  • Analyses data and compiles detailed reports as requested by the Director of Human Resources.
  • Participates in the annual calibration meetings to ensure alignment and consistency across professional development efforts.
  • Develops mechanisms for Professional Development Specialists to monitor the completion of tasks as per the THRIVE annual calendar and act as an escalation point when further follow up is required.
  • Follow up with THRIVE leaders on their THRIVE tasks and offer guidance and support when required.
  • Any other duties directed by the Director of Human Resources.
