Description:

  • Airworthiness Review Engineer within Fleet Support Engineering Team
  • Permanent, Full-Time position
  • Located at the Qantas Sydney Distribution Centre, Mascot
Qantas Engineering keeps us at the forefront of aviation, caring and maintaining both the Qantas fleet, as well as aircraft for our customers across the Asia-Pacific region. Working with state-of-the-art equipment and resources, our shared commitment to professional excellence continues to keep our customers safe.
Taking ownership is critical. Whether we’re working individually or as a group, we challenge ourselves to make progress and deliver results. We understand our priorities and what needs to be delivered, taking the initiative to keep things moving. Navigating through our complex work environment, we bring teams and individuals together to deliver on our customers’ expectations.
In your new role as an Airworthiness Review Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for investigating the airworthiness status of the Qantas fleet of aircraft via the airworthiness review processes. This will include review of aircraft / component / maintenance records, Maintenance Information System reports and carrying out Physical Surveys of aircraft. You will be required to complete review processes with accuracy and to strict deadlines to allow Airworthiness Review Certificates to be issued, contributing to the safety and operational availability of the Qantas fleet.
You will be responsible for identification of airworthiness compliance risks and you will contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes used to manage continuing airworthiness of aircraft to ensure they are robust and effective. In doing so, you will draw on your effective communication and problem-solving skills to work with other Engineering teams to deliver these responsibilities.

You’ll have –

  • A Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical or equivalent, as recognised by Engineers Australia.
  • A sound knowledge of certification, regulations and standards applicable to aircraft airworthiness.
  • The desire to acquire knowledge of the aircraft’s certification basis, structure and systems.
  • Accuracy and high level of attention to detail.
  • Sound organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise conflicting tasks in order to meet strict deadlines.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Strong demonstrated skills in problem solving and analytical thinking, both individually and as part of a team.
  • Proven organisational and communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Previous aviation experience working within a Continuous Airworthiness Management Organisation would be considered advantageous.
