Description:

R&K Solutions, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Professional Engineer or Architect. This ideal candidate will have 11+ years of experience. This role calls for a strong foundation in analysis, design, and project management to perform inspections, assessments, code compliance, project scheduling and management, proposal management, and cost estimation. Compensation and assigned level will be based on pertinent experience and totality of qualifications met. Ideal opportunity for a transitioning military or government PE or Architect.

Duties:

  • Perform and supervise a small team of trades to conduct inspections and condition assessments of federal and commercial facilities. Inspections and assessments must satisfy the client requirements necessary for routine building management activities including long-range budgeting and capital investment. Type and detail level vary based on client requirements and may range from component inventory and remaining life analyses to deficiency-based and knowledge-based assessments. Destructive testing, disassembly, and higher forms of assessment are not required.
  • Certify results of inspections and assessments.
  • Perform calculations of facility condition or readiness based on client approved processes.
  • Oversee input of inspection and assessment data into authorized corporate or client systems.
  • Prepare reports, information papers and briefing charts.
  • Brief all levels of management.
  • Provide business development and proposal support to manage the pipeline of future business.
  • Provide knowledge and support to facility asset managers on construction, maintenance, repair, and space utilization and optimization.
  • Develop cost estimates for construction of facilities and performance of preventative maintenance and repairs of facilities. Develop tasks and cost of life-cycle sustainment of facilities.
  • Provide facility maintenance and costing expertise to various programs.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect with current license in any US state.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or related discipline.
  • Most possess or be able to obtain and DoD Security Clearance.
  • Experience in design, construction, or maintenance of Federal or DoD facilities a plus.
  • Experience with Sustainment Management Systems, e.g. BUILDER, a plus.
  • Experience with computer aided engineering processes and tools for facility construction and maintenance/repair is required, and specific experience preparing cost estimates using RS Mean/CostWorks software and the Marshall & Swift Valuation guide is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail oriented and results driven.
