Responsibilities:
- Provide technical engineering guidance as necessary to designers, structural engineers, technical writers, liaison engineers, customer support, Quality, buyers and laboratory staff on the applications, properties and processing of aircraft materials and hardware.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, change documentation, certification plans and release documentation pursuant to technical engineering modifications/specifications for materials in general.
- Execute various engineering tasks like the evaluation of different metallic materials, their processes and limitations.
- Prepare various test plans, analyze results and write certification reports.
- Take part in design reviews with internal Product Development Teams and others, when requested.
- Review production process documents prepared by other functions and recommended for approval.
- Prepare, administer and approve standard technical engineering practices, procedures, design guidelines and corporate/site specific standards contained in Bombardier Manuals
- Participate to various R&D projects in order to improve environmental footprint of Bombardier Aviation.
- Support on-going continuous improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency through relevant engineering, process, and other capability improvements.
- Provide technical direction to junior and intermediate members of the team to accomplish day to day tasks.
- Keep abreast with current materials and hardware technology and development, suitable for use in company products, through contacts with various external agencies.
