PROGRAM ASSISTANT – EDUCATION

(Full-time Contract from July 2, 2024 to August 27, 2024)

PLEASE NOTE: CCS HAS SUBMITTED A FUNDING PROPOSAL FOR SUMMER STUDENT HIRING. WE ARE CURRENTLY RECRUITING TO BUILD OUR APPLICANT POOL FOR POSITIONS WE INTEND TO HIRE. OUR ABILITY TO HIRE FOR THIS POSITION IS CONDITIONAL UPON US SECURING APPROVAL FOR THE FUNDING. SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES WITH BE CONTACTED IN APRIL FOR INTERVIEWS.

We are currently accepting applications for summer students interested in working as a Program assistant – education.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW/HAVE:

  • Digital skills (ability to use survey monkey, develop needs assessments, Canva, etc.)
  • Good communication skills with children, parents and staff
  • Ability to work alone, as well as part of a team
  • Training for working with children
  • Leadership and supervisory skills
  • English and knowledge of a second language an asset
    Location: Toronto, ON
    Hours: 35 per week, occasional weekends and evenings may be required.
    Compensation: $16.55 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • To coordinate a Summer Enrichment Program along with the Family Literacy Worker for the school aged children of our LINC program students and their families.
  • Connect with LINC students to find out the interest for summer programming for their school aged children.
  • Survey and collect information
  • Plan and run programming in July/Aug based on the student’s needs.
  • Work with management, LINC admin and support staff to ensure promotion of program.
