Start Date: A.S.A.P., 40 hrs p/w (flexible; some occasional travel will be required)
Location: Santiago, Chile (hybrid/remote; candidate must have an existing permit to live and work in Chile)
Contract: 1 year initially – extension by mutual consent
POSITION SUMMARY
GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) is an independent, international organization that helps businesses be transparent and take responsibility for their impacts so that together we can create a sustainable future. We are seeking a proactive and well-organized professional to provide operational support for our regional initiative, aimed at helping Latin American SMEs transition to a low-carbon, resource-efficient, and circular economy.
You will operate as a program coordinator to support the GRI Network LATAM team by planning and coordinating GRI’s program related activities aimed at improving the sustainability performance and reporting capabilities of SMEs in Latin America, with a particular focus on Chile. Operating from August 2024 to April 2026, the Coordinator LATAM will ensure the program’s objectives are successfully achieved, in alignment with GRI’s mission and values.
REQUIREMENTS
- You hold a degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Sustainability, International Development or a related discipline and/or at least 2 years of experience in program coordination/delivery, project management, or a similar role, preferably within the sustainability sector in Latin America.
- Experience working with SMEs and understanding of their challenges and opportunities, particularly in Latin America (desirable).
- Proven experience in developing and delivering training programs.
- You are familiar with sustainability principles and project management concepts.
- Previous events management experience including roundtables, networking and workshops.
- You have strong interpersonal skills and are able to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
- You are able to work quickly and accurately when creating and reviewing work, identifying errors or inconsistencies.
- You can conduct thorough research and analyse data to inform program development and reporting. You have the ability to convey information verbally and in writing to others in a simple and clear way. Comfortable understanding instructions, making requests, asking questions and relaying information.
- You work well with other people and actively contribute to the team in order to complete tasks, meet goals or manage projects.
- You share information, knowledge and experience and take the initiative to keep the rest of the team informed. You are open to other people’s ideas and perspectives.
- You are proficient in MS Office Suite, Zoom, Canva.
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish.
- You have a professional home office setup, including a dedicated desk or workspace that is ergonomic and includes a comfortable and adjustable chair, adequate lighting and reliable internet connection ensuring effective work from home.
