Description:

The role works directly with the Senior Director, DCP in ensuring that each project within the overarching program has the required agreements, services and stock in place to ensure successful delivery is achieved against Capital Construction Programs. The overall budget for the Program exceeds $600m.

Responsibilities:

Queensland Health is currently undertaking one of the largest health infrastructure programs ever seen in Australia. The largest of these, the Capacity Expansion Program (CEP) is a visionary program designed to bring service and capabilities to more Queenslanders than ever before. Adding over 2,200 additional hospital beds across the state, with four entirely new hospitals and expansions to 11 already world class facilities.

To be successful in this role you must demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated high level knowledge of project/program management and purchasing models/methodologies in a Capital Program.
  • Provide strategic advice to program staff to ensure quality infrastructure project outcomes through supporting the delivery of complex or high-risk projects in line with Queensland Health approved project management methodologies.
  • Plan, coordinate and create required contracts and purchasing of devices (including but not limited to End User Computing, Network, Telephony, Server & Storage) and services (including but not limited to Master System Integrator, Cabling Auditor and Security Services) to enable the successful delivery of the program.
  • Work with the Director, Contracts and Procurement, Operations and Performance Branch to utilise existing pathways and frameworks to ensure compliance to eHQ process and supply against program requirements within time and budget.
  • Working within existing and new contracts for Queensland Health and eHQ to deliver value for money market testing, effective procurement outcomes and deliver against purchasing requirements for a substantial program of work.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director and partners to ensure purchasing and delivery schedules are established and accomplished.
  • Provide timely and strategic procurement and budgetary advice as required to Senior Director.

About the Digital Capital Program - eHealth Queensland
eHealth Queensland (eHQ) is one of the largest Information Communication Technology operations in the state. It is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of information systems and technologies so that Queensland Health employees and health providers have access to information that supports the delivery of health care.
eHQ advises on state-wide eHealth innovation, strategy, planning, standards, architecture and governance and is responsible for delivering clinical, corporate and infrastructure ICT programs in line with the Queensland Health vision and investment priorities, providing modern ICT infrastructure and customer support for desktop, mobile, smart devices, telehealth, data centres, network and security.
The Delivery Services Branch (DSB) is Queensland Health’s trusted partner and advisor for digital health project delivery excellence.
DSB ensures the successful delivery of major IT projects, operational ICT delivery and initiatives to our customers across Queensland Health for the benefit of all Queenslanders. This function is critical to eHealth Queensland realising its overall vision, which is to ‘advance healthcare through digital innovation’.
The DCP has been established within DSB to support the delivery of the Queensland Government Health Infrastructure Capital Program in partnership with the Health Capital Division to meet the growing demand for health services.
eHQ were appointed the Master System Integrator (MSI) for all health infrastructure capital projects and have established the DCP to standardise and centralise the delivery of digital components required for all Health Infrastructure Capital Program initiatives.
