About You / What We Are Looking For
We are currently recruiting for energetic and creative Program Leaders to join the Events team in an auxiliary capacity.
These roles will assist with Canada day and other summer events. Shifts include setup, event day, event preparation and event take down. It is a great opportunity to be part of our amazing summer events team while working out in the community!
In this role you will be working alongside the event planning team to help plan, schedule or deliver Coquitlam events activities during events such as Canada Day in Coquitlam, Kaleidoscope Arts Festival, Summer Concert Series and more! We are offering opportunities roles for the food areas, event ambassadors, information booth, driving event golf carts, eco zone etc.

You will have help deliver a variety of programs as well as the opportunity to learn skills such as:

  • Event planning tools, techniques and best practices
  • Event procedures, regulations and requirements
  • Event logistics
  • Working with food trucks, community groups and organizations
  • Working with vendors, contractors and suppliers
  • Customer service
  • Quick problem solving
  • service recovery techniques

Minimum Qualifications
Completion of the 12th school grade and some related experience preferably in municipal recreational work experience is a requirement. An equivalent combination of training and experience may also be considered. A valid St. Johns First Aid Certificate or equivalent, is also required.
What We Offer:
This CUPE position has an hourly rate range of $25.22 - $29.48 (2024 rates) plus 12% in lieu of benefits. The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.
