Description:

    Have you ever wondered how Amazon’s European Operations team develops long-term plans to achieve the company’s ambitious objectives in speed, cost, quality, and CO2 emissions? If so, this role is for you!
    Key job responsibilities
    As Program Manager for Long-term Planning, you will be collaborate on the strategic planning cycles for Amazon’s European Operations, encompassing SPS, OP1, and OP2. You be responsible for the coordination of all planning activities and participate in delivering the final, consolidated plans that are presented to Amazon’s global Chief of Operations.
    Collaborating closely with teams across EU Operations, including GCF, ATS, AMZL, and GTS, you will ensure coherence and alignment in the long-term planning efforts. Your key focus will be to foster a unified, cross-functional approach, where each team’s plans are working towards the same overarching objectives.
    Navigating the sometimes-conflicting priorities and trade-offs, you will play a crucial role in breaking down silos and facilitating a holistic, data-driven decision-making process.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of the complex, cross-functional planning cycle for Amazon EU Operations (SPS, OP1, OP2)
  • Coordinate the setting and propagation of targets for speed, cost, DEA, and CO2 across the organization
  • Collaborate with over 100 stakeholders across business and finance teams to develop plans for achieving these targets, securing necessary investments and technology commitments, and identifying key risks and opportunities
  • Ensure smooth coordination and coherence between teams across the various organizations, managing timelines, meeting sequences, and aligning narratives
  • Participate in writting the business documents and plans presented at the COO-level (three times a year), as well as all the intermediate materials leading up to these plans (VP and L8 docs)
  • Work closely with ops and finance experts to combine and transform the plans into a set of network KPIs, ensuring they are accurately reflected in the financial models (P&L, cash flow, mix/rate)
  • Engage with other Amazon business units globally to share best practices and drive process improvements
    This role includes a balanced mix of stakeholder/program management (70%) and analytical activities (30%)

  • Master’s degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
  • Experience leading process improvements
  • Basic knowledge of SQL, Excel Macros, Tableau and other data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with supply chain management concepts - forecasting, planning, optimization, logistics gained through work experience or graduate level education.
